IL-IN Master Watershed Stewards Training 2024

We regret to inform you that we are postponing the program until next summer, 2025. Due to unexpected circumstances and staff capacity shortages, we are unable to deliver the program at the quality that we would like. We are very sorry to postpone the program and are grateful for your interest in promoting watershed health in Cook County.

IL-IN Master Watershed Stewards:
  • Trains and supports community leaders to serve and support the protection and conservation of land and water resources.
  • Helps develop a network of stewards to serve their communities as catalysts for local environmental conservation through education, research and stewardship.
  • Promotes awareness and appreciation for ecological resources.

About the program:
  • The program will consist of 8 classes conducted online via Zoom as well as 2 in-person field trips around Cook County.
    • Classes will take place weekly on Thursdays from 2-4pm on the following dates: 
      • June 6
      • June 13
      • June 20
      • June 27
      • July 11
      • July 18 
      • July 25
      • August 1

  • Cost: $20. If you're in need of a fee waiver, please select the "fee waiver" option in the form.

  • Qualifications: 
    • Be able to complete the entire course: 8 2-hour sessions, 2 fieldtrips, and out of class homework.
    • Be a Cook County resident.
    • Be interested in environmental stewardship and building resilient communities.
