Youth are invited to spend five days learning about plants, insects, and wildlife you might find in your own garden. Join the Master Gardeners in the Children's Auditorium at the Decatur Public Library and get ready for a daily dose of gardening adventures!
Sessions will be held from June 2 - June 6 from 2 - 3:30
This event is limited to the ages of 4-10 and there are only 20 spots available
We will visit the gardens outside each day and will be digging in them.
Daily activities:
- Monday- Flower Planting
We will learn about the parts of a flower and planting them outside. We will also decorate a pot and take a flower home. - Tuesday- Seeds to Flowers
We will learn about seeds, make a seed house, and talk about seed dispersal. - Wednesday- Ew Bugs
We will learn about insects and why they are beneficial. We will enjoy bug scavenger hunt in the garden, along with Bug bingo - Thursday- Birds
We will learn about birds and build our own bird's nest. We will make our own beak and bird paper airplanes, along with a take-home scavenger hunt. - Friday- Pollinators
We will learn about Pollinators and make some Mason bee homes to take home, along with a butterfly activity and a caterpillar race.
