Wee Naturalists (Wee Nats) - Freeport

Learn about nature at Wee Nats (Wee Naturalists), a fun, interactive program for youth ages 4-7. Youth will learn about different environmental education topics through a story, activity, craft, and hike. University of Illinois Extension 4-H Youth Educator Kelly Lafferty will offer the program on the second Tuesday of the month at the U of I Extension located in Building R at Highland Community College (use parking lot B), 2998 W. Pearl Road, Freeport. Each program will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. An adult must stay with the youth during the program. There is no charge to attend.

Program dates and topics include: 
September 8 - Endangered Species
October 13 - Autumn
November 10 - Turkeys
December 8 - The 3 R's
January 12 - Hibernation
February 9 - Stargazing
March 9 - March Winds
April 13 - Prairies
May 11 - Insects
