Watershed Steward Program

University of Illinois Extension in DeKalb County is offering the Watershed Steward program for members of our communities. This program engages participants as stewards of their local watershed by offering information from scientists, researchers, and watershed management professionals. This seven-session education program helps people understand how their water travels from rainfall to potential drinking water and so much more.
Qualifications:
- Be able to complete the entire course: (7) 2.5 hour sessions, and some out of class homework.
- Be a DeKalb County resident or volunteer.
- Be interested in environmental stewardship and building resilient communities.

DeKalb County Farm Bureau (4 classes)

(one mile west of Genoa, entrance road immediately west of the Genoa-Kingston High School)
About the program - the program will consist of seven (7) daytime classes held weekly on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon on the following dates at the listed location:
- September 9 - Natural Resource Education Center, Russell Woods Forest Preserve
- September 16 - Natural Resource Education Center, Russell Woods Forest Preserve
- September 23 - DeKalb County Farm Bureau
- September 30 - DeKalb County Farm Bureau
- October 7 - Natural Resource Education Center, Russell Woods Forest Preserve
- October 14 - DeKalb County Farm Bureau
- October 21 - DeKalb County Farm Bureau
Program Fee: $84 - covers all seven sessions
