The history of Pere Marquette State Park centers around the Illinois Rivier. The surrounding region is an ideal environment for prairie grasses, plants, and deciduous forest, dominated by oak and hickory trees. Join Andrew Holsinger, Extension horticulture educator, for a morning at the park. Tour the park and learn about tree identification and native trees of Illinois.

Monday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at Pere Marquette State Park Visitors Center located at 13112 Visitors Center Ln, Grafton, IL 62037. We will meet outside the Visitor Center.

This program is FREE and open to youth ages 5-18 years old and their families. Cloverbud aged youth (5-7 years) must have a guardian present to attend program. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes for walking on and off paths.

Register by June 7.

In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified via email and the Jersey County 4-H Facebook page.
