Summer Clovers 4-H Club


Do your kids need something positive to engage them this summer? 4-H Staff, MCFB Ag in the Classroom teachers, & 4-H Ambassadors are offering a Summer 4-H club opportunity to learn about some of the 4-H projects offered throughout the year in a summer setting. 

  • What: Get a “Taste of 4-H” with the Summer Clovers 4-H Club.
  • When: Fridays, June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
  • Where: Extension office in McHenry County Farm Bureau Building, 1102 McConnell Rd. Woodstock, IL 60098
  • Who: Recommended for youth who have already completed kindergarten through 4th grade (4-H ages 5 - 9 as of September 1, 2024).
  • Why: Kids develop life skills through hands-on projects in science, health, environment, agriculture, and cultural appreciation. The 4-H program fosters confidence, independence, resilience, and compassion. Find your Spark by visiting the Illinois 4-H Website: https://4h.extension.illinois.edu
  • Cost: 
    • $15.00 for Current 4-H Members
    • $30.00 for youth not already enrolled as an Illinois 4-H member (fee includes 4-H membership)
    • New to 4-H youth should complete the Enrollment form

This summer club provides a glimpse into the 4-H program, allowing kids to explore independent learning through hands-on activities:

  • Learn about Agriculture: McHenry County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom instructors will be joining our team with a short lesson and activity each day!
  • Explore the Outdoor World with 4-H: Learn about birds, reptiles, mammals, and bugs through hands-on activities, games, and other experiences.
  • STEM Challenges: Dive into science, technology, engineering, and math with fun challenges.
  • Cultural & Creative Arts: Express yourself through creative arts.
  • Promoting Self-Care: Emphasize social-emotional health and proper nutrition.



Participants should: 
  • Complete required forms
  • Dress for the weather as we will be going outside. Wear closed toed shoes (ex. PE shoes). No flip-flop sandals. Bring a hat or visor & coat or sweatshirt.
  • Youth should arrive wearing sunscreen & bug spray, etc. (staff is not allowed to apply these to youth.)
  • Please list any allergies.
