Dear Community Leader,
At University of Illinois Extension, our staff is developing a research-based summit addressing stormwater management – the largest environmental impact we are seeing in Illinois. We invite you to the "IL Extension's Stormwater Leadership Summit: Adapting to Change, Building Solutions Together." This program will bring together decision-makers and experts to address the growing challenges of stormwater management across Illinois communities.
The summit will feature:
· Actionable frameworks training to address stormwater challenges, including customized action planning
· Success stories poster sessions to highlight effective solutions
· A mini-expo showcasing organizations and grassroots efforts addressing stormwater management.
· Coalition-building sessions, including "World Café" style community discussions.
· Post-summit follow-up and resources to inform future Extension actions.
Our goal is to ensure participants walk away with concrete ideas on how to address stormwater issues and a network of leaders facing similar challenges.
We are seeking partners at various levels to help make this effort a success. Your support will help provide scholarships for community leaders from underserved areas (with the help of the organizing committee to ensure equitable distribution among community leaders), educational materials and resources, expert speakers and facilitators, and coalition-building support and follow-up activities.
