Rainscaping

Ready to take action for cleaner water and a healthier landscape? Learn how to build and care for rain gardens through the Rainscaping Education Program, a hands‑on, research‑based course that teaches practical ways to manage rainwater right where it falls. You’ll discover how rainscaping reduces runoff, filters pollutants, and protects local lakes and streams — all while improving your own property. Participants learn how to design, install, and maintain rain gardens, reduce stormwater impacts at home, and support long‑term water quality. Make a difference, one site at a time, and gain the tools to create a more resilient landscape.
The workshop consists of:
  • Two classroom sessions: September 21-22, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • One field session: September 23, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Field session rain date: September 25, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The field component will be held outdoors and may be rescheduled to September 25 in the event of inclement weather.
