Project Management for Young Leaders: "Growing Success"

Are you ready to dive into the world of project management and become a young leader who can plan, execute, and succeed in any project? Join 4-H Volunteer and 4-H Parent, Beth Fritch, for a fun and engaging 2-hour course designed specifically for ages 8-17.

Course Description: This 2-hour course will introduce young leaders to the fundamentals of project management using a fun and engaging approach. We'll learn how to plan, execute, and succeed in any project, whether it’s building a robot or organizing a community clean-up, by applying the same principles used by professionals around the world!
  • Date: May 17 from 10 AM - NOON
  • Place: Extension Office, 1102 McConnell Rd., Woodstock
  • Target Audience: Ages 8-17
  • Course Duration: 2 hours
  • Project Example: Planting an Herb Garden to Show in the State Fair

In this course, you'll explore the fundamentals of project management through interactive modules:
Modules:
  1. Introduction to Project Management
  2. Initiating a Project
  3. Planning the Project
    • Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
    • Build a Schedule or Timeline
  4. Executing the Project
  5. Monitoring and Controlling the Project
  6. Closing the Project
  7. Questions

As a practical example, we'll guide you through planting an herb garden to showcase at the State Fair. This hands-on project will help you apply what you've learned and see your efforts come to life.
