Prescribed Fire Workshop

Join us for an enlightening Prescribed Fire Workshop co-sponsored by Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever!

The workshop will be held on Thursday, August 15 from 6-7 pm at the Farm Bureau Auditorium located at 900 Hillsboro Avenue in Edwardsville.

Delve into the critical role of prescribed fire in habitat restoration and wildlife conservation. Our comprehensive workshop will cover a range of topics including:

  • Historical Fire History: Exploring the role of fire in grasslands and forests ecosystems.
  • Prescribed Fire Benefits: Understanding the significance of prescribed fire in prairie and oak forest restoration.
  • Basic Fire Behavior: Learning about fuel, topography, wind, relative humidity, and temperature's impact on fire behavior.
  • Burn Plan Writing Basics: Mastering the essentials of creating a burn plan, including objectives, maps, prescriptions, safety measures, and more.
