Post-Secondary Education, Workforce Readiness, and Mental Health Initiatives
The University of Illinois Extension provides educators who are committed to creating hands-on learning experiences for students. If you would like to request a 4-H program at your site, please complete the form indicating your program preferences and preferred dates. Please remember that each group must have a minimum of five participants.
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we kindly ask that you submit your requests at least six weeks in advance to facilitate effective scheduling for our staff and volunteers.
To better accommodate groups, we may limit each organization to two programs per calendar year.
PLEASE NOTE: April-July dates are very popular; therefore, please try to book months in advance.
For in-person programs, if your organization can, we request a cost recovery fee of $50 - $75 for each program to cover educational materials for hands-on activities and handouts. We will work with you based on your available funding. We greatly appreciate your support and can provide a W-9.
Checks should be made payable to the University of Illinois Extension, the word "4-H CHICAGO YOUTH" on
the memo line, and may be mailed to Illinois Extension 8753 S Greenwood Ave. Suite 100. Chicago, IL 60619.
The University of Illinois Extension does not currently mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for our volunteers, nor will we request vaccination proof. We encourage volunteers at partner sites to adhere to the guidelines established by those partners. The decision to continue volunteering at sites that require vaccination rests with the individual volunteer. We acknowledge the vaccination mandates imposed by some partners, who will be accountable for ensuring compliance with their policies. When we communicate volunteer opportunities, we will also convey any specific requirements from our partners for those roles. It is the responsibility of the requesting organization to provide any relevant protocols or requirements at the time of the program request, ensuring this information is incorporated into volunteer recruitment efforts.
Please note that Extension staff and volunteers are not authorized to conduct programs at private residences.
