North Pope Creek & Mud Creek Watershed Planning Meeting

Join local conservation partners for the North Pope Creek & Mud Creek Watershed Planning Meeting.

This meeting will introduce the watershed planning process and provide an opportunity for local farmers, landowners, and community members to help identify resource concerns and conservation priorities for the North Pope Creek and Mud Creek watersheds. Participants will learn about the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy, available conservation funding opportunities, and how local input will help guide future conservation efforts and implementation opportunities.

Topics will include:
  • Overview of the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy (NLRS)
  • Watershed planning: what it is and why it matters
  • USDA NRCS conservation funding opportunities
  • Discussion of local water quality and natural resource concerns

This event is a collaboration between University of Illinois Extension, Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District, Henry County Soil and Water Conservation District, Mercer County Farm Bureau, Henry County Farm Bureau, Illinois Farm Bureau, Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Spheros Environmental.
