Nature Bingo Scavenger Hunt - Summer 2023
This program is no longer accepting registrations. Please contact 4-H Youth Development Educator Shannon Range for questions. SLRange@illinois.edu.
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the turtles are finally out sunning themselves! Get some fresh air, go hiking, and explore nature while on a nature bingo scavenger hunt with your friends, family, or 4-H club, and win prizes!
Participants can do this program from ANYWHERE in the world and you don't have to be a youth or even a 4-H member (but we would love for you to join us!). Adults are welcome -- it's fun!!!
This event is the summer kickoff to our Outdoor Skills & Adventures SPIN Club! We'll send more information after registration is complete.
From Educator Shannon Range - My brother lives in Texas and we do this challenge together for prizes. Basically, whoever gets the first double, picture frame, and blackout bingo owes each other treats the next time we see each other. The grand prize for blackout and a sushi dinner!
How it works...
Once you register and close to or on the starting date, you will receive the correct number of Nature Scavenger Hunt Bingo cards (full page PDF file - we have many versions if you register more than one person) that you can print out and take with you on your hunt. You will try to find as many bingos as you can by finding the items on your card. Choose between basic cards with items such as yellow flower, moss, poison ivy, etc. and concepts such as twist & shout, fight for survival, cloud looks like an animal, etc. Either way, you will receive the bingo card and and educational handout explaining and/or quizzing participants on some of the items you are looking for such as moss, tree burl, decomposition log, etc.
