Native Landscape Design Virtual Workshop Series 2025
Registration is closed for this year’s Native Plant Design Workshop. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy Kreith at kreith@illinois.edu and we hope to see you next year!
Native plants are beautiful, beneficial to wildlife, and adapted to weather extremes, but how do you make them look their best in your home landscape? Learn design principles and native plant selection in this workshop with University of Illinois Extension.
This workshop has two parts:
1. Educational lecture by Extension horticulture educators and Master Gardeners. This session will introduce the Conservation@Home program, design concepts, plant lists, examples of plant research, site assessment, and incorporating native plants into the landscape. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 5:30-8 pm CST via Zoom.
2. At the end of the lecture, attendees will be invited to attend one of two virtual coaching sessions, where they will be mentored by a Master Naturalist or Master Gardener who will help with garden layout, plant selection, and troubleshooting. These coaching sessions will be held on Zoom on February 4 and 18, from 5:30-7:30pm. Homework is required to attend the coaching session. Capacity for coaching sessions is limited and attendance of the lecture does not guarantee a spot in a coaching session.
