Master Naturalist Training 2026

Are you interested in enhancing your love of nature by learning more about Illinois' natural history, ecosystems, and environmental issues? Are you interested in giving back to nature and your local community through lifelong learning and sharing your knowledge and passion?

Join us at Patriot's Park in Greenville (1000-1010 Patriot's Park, Greenville, IL) for the 2026 Master Naturalist Training!

University of Illinois Extension's Master Naturalist Program is designed for adults of any age who want to learn about and positively impact their local environment.

5:30-7:30 p.m. on September 1 - Introduction/Understanding the Natural World
5:30-7:30 p.m. on September 8 - Environmental Ethics
5:30-7:30 p.m. on September 15 - Art of Interpretation and Natural Divisions
5:30-7:30 p.m. on September 22 - Field Trip to Cahokia Mounds
5:30-7:30 p.m. on September 29 - Forestry
5:30-7:30 p.m. on October 6 - Ornithology
5:30-7:30 p.m. on October 13 - Entomology
5:30-7:30 p.m. on October 20 - Wildlife
5:30-7:30 p.m. on October 27 - Illinois Rivers & Watersheds
5:30-7:30 p.m. on November 7 - Soils, Geology, and Composting/Graduation

**If you are unable to commit to the entire training class at this time but are interested in attending a few sessions, please contact Chris at 618-242-0780 or email lueking@illinois.edu. Individual sessions can be taken for $10 each by those not pursuing their certification.
