Master Gardener Training

If you enjoy gardening, like to learn, and meet like minded individuals, the Master Gardener program may be for you. All you need is an interest in gardening, an open mind, and a willingness to share your knowledge with others. 

Participation in all 11 weeks of classes from February 3 - April 14 is required as the first step to becoming a certified Master Gardener. 

Participants can choose to attend virtually or in-person. Virtual classes are Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30 am. In-person classes run Tuesday nights from 5-6:30pm at the Whiteside County Extension Office, 12923 Lawrence Rd, Sterling, IL.

Additionally, two, required, hands on sessions are scheduled on Friday, March 13, and April 17 from 1:30-4:30pm at the Whiteside County Extension Office.
