Livingston County Seed Swap 2025
This registration has been archived.
Join us for the Livingston County Seed Swap on January 22nd from 4:30PM to 6:30PM at the Livingston County Extension Office in Pontiac, IL (1412 S Locust St, Pontiac, IL 61764)!
This will be a come-and-go event to swap vegetable seeds, scion (fruit tree) wood, and native seeds. This will also be an opportunity to network with other plant and garden enthusiasts, and dream of what’s possible this growing season.
Materials on how to start seeds will be provided.
If you plan to attend, and take seeds home, please bring seeds to donate and trade! Seeds should not be more than 2 years old. Seeds brought to trade should be heritage or heirloom. Saved F1 hybrid seeds will present problems to growers - please do not bring those. Seeds brought to trade should be in clear plastic bags, re-sealable paper envelops, etc., and should be labeled clearly so seed swappers can read.
Nick Frillman - Local Food Systems & Small Farms Educator - will lead the Livingston County Seed Swap, and be available to answer questions specifically with regard to vegetable seed starting. Native seed starting guidance resources will be provided.
Master Gardener volunteers and Extension staff will be available to answer your seed starting questions. There will also be an informal seed starting equipment demo station.
Paper envelopes or plastic bags will be provided to take home seeds.
This event is free to attend but registration is required.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, or you have any other questions, please contact Nick Frillman at frillma2@illinois.edu or by phone (309 663 8306). Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet access needs.
