Join us for a fun summer project to excite your kids about gardening!
The Little Roots Gardening Calendar will guide you and your Cloverbud in growing 7 different plants! Grow sunflowers, zinnia flowers, radishes, pumpkins, and basil from seed, and one tomato plant and one pepper plant to harvest. Engage in weekly activities like observing the world around you, researching basic horticulture terms, and caring for your plants.
For this program you will need:
The Little Roots Gardening Calendar will guide you and your Cloverbud in growing 7 different plants! Engage in weekly activities like observing the world around you, researching basic horticulture terms, and caring for your plants.
For this program you will need:
- Access to a 6 x 6 planting area or containers with a nearby water source
- Little Roots Gardening Calendar (provided)
- Little Roots Seed Packets, 1 pepper plant, and 1 tomato plant (provided)
- Other garden tools that might include: gloves, a trowel, and a watering can

Each Cloverbud may choose to participate in a showcase by selecting one or all options:
- The exhibit should include at least 1 single vegetable plate. (The exhibitor will furnish the disposable plates. Sturdy plates with raised sides work best.)
- Multiple plates are allowed; however, only include one variety of vegetables per plate. Plates should be labeled with names and varieties of vegetables.
- Exhibit in one container, a display of cut flowers. (Exhibitor will furnish the vase.) Choices Include 3 Blooming Stems of Zinnia OR 7 Blooming Stem of a Sunflower
- Present a poster that focuses on some aspect of vegetable gardening/floriculture which does not require the vegetable/bloom to be present at the exhibition.

- Check-in between 8 AM and 9 AM, sign-up for Show and Tell timeslot
- Cloverbud Show and Tell timeslots begin at 10 AM
Each Cloverbud may also choose to participate in a virtual showcase as well.
