Lake County Master Gardener 40th Anniversary Garden Tours - Fremont Township Community Garden

Fremont Township Community Garden Tour. Tuesday, September 1st. 10-11am. 22385 IL Route 60, Mundelein.

There is so much to explore and learn about at the Fremont Township Community Garden. Incorporating a number of permaculture practices throughout the garden, attendees will see examples of green roofs, swales, and rain gardens. Organic vegetables are grown alongside fruit such as serviceberries and grapes, all of which stock the shelves of the Fremont Township Food Pantry. We will also spend time at the Master Gardener's Sensory, Longevity, and White (or Moon) garden spaces. If you are interested in gardening and sustainability, you'll love the Fremont Township Community Garden!

Extension is celebrating 40 years of the Master Gardener program in Lake County! From food pantries to pollinators, Master Gardeners have been serving Lake County in many ways since 1986. To commemorate this milestone, we are hosting a series of public tours of Master Gardener project sites around Lake County that showcase the public service and outreach provided by Master Gardener volunteers.

If you need reasonable accommodations in order to participate, please contact Alex Landberg at landberg@illinois.edu
