This Cook County facilitator training session will equip you to effectively implement the popular Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! Junior Master Gardener curriculum with your youth group. This workshop will be a combination of presentation, fun hands-on activities, tips for starting a thriving garden project, and how to access the time-saving resources that make your job easier.
Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! (LGEG) is the research & evidence-based curriculum project of the Junior Master Gardener® Program that combines academic achievement, gardening, nutrient-dense food experiences, physical activity, & school & family engagement. The linear, 10-week (2 lessons/week) unit of study will step your 3rd to 5th grader ages through the process of establishing a thriving garden that is easy to create and maintain!
Who: This workshop is geared towards adults that work with youth ages 8-11 years old. Informal and formal educators are invited to this workshop, for example, school teachers, 4H leaders, after school programs, scout leaders, and summer camp leaders may all attend
What: Junior Master Gardener - Learn, Grow, Eat & Go Train the Trainer Workshop + Food Handler Certification Training. Participants will receive their food handler training certificate of completion. The certificate is valid for 3 years. Participants will also receive a supply kit with curriculum, seeds and other program supplies.
When: Saturday March 15, 2025 from 9:00am - 4:00pm, please arrive 15 minutes early
