Inaugural Illinois Women Owning Woodlands "First Wednesday" Lunch & Learn
Join us online on August 5, for our first public gathering: a free, casual lunch hour webinar featuring Dr. Emily Silver, plus a chance to meet fellow IL women woodland owners and learn what’s growing with WoW IL.
Women Owning Woodlands Illinois brings together women who own, inherit, steward, or simply care about woodlands. Through educational programs, expert resources, and peer connections, WoW IL empowers women to make informed decisions about their land while fostering a supportive, welcoming community where everyone can learn and grow.
Dr. Silver is a quantitative social scientist who studies family forest owners and works directly with landowner networks. She’ll bring a hybrid session mixing a short interactive activity with practical content covering why women landowners have unique needs, land management ideas, and lessons learned from peer WoW Networks.
Bring your lunch and your questions! This kickoff Lunch & Learn is an engaging introduction to WoW IL. Come meet fellow members, hear from our guest speaker, and find out what’s next for the chapter.
