State of Illinois Legislative Update

Join Illinois Extension and the Illinois Association of County Board Members to learn about recent and potential changes in legislation at the state level, and implications for Illinois counties and local governments. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q and A at the end of each presentation.
Speakers:
Kelly Murray is a registered lobbyist with education in political science. She has served on several state boards and commissions that legislate Illinois policy. In 2006, she established the Counties of Illinois Risk Management Agency (CIRMA), a protected self-insurance program, exclusively owned by Illinois counties. Kelly is a founder of the Institute for Excellence in County Governance in partnership with the University of Illinois, a contributing author of Tomorrow's Leaders civic curriculum, founder of the Certified County Officials (CCO) education program, and co-editor of the APA award-winning publication Developing a Community Strategic Plan: A Guide for Local Officials.
Taylor Anderson, a full time, registered, contractual lobbyist in the State of Illinois, has spent over a decade working with the Illinois General Assembly. He has lobbied on behalf of a wide and diverse groups of clients including various COG’s and local governments, as well as numerous business entities. Taylor has traveled across the State speaking on the impact of various legislative issues and annually he is featured on a webinar specifically discussing legislation impacting Illinois counties. Taylor graduated from Pomona College with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics.
