If You Plant It, They Will Come
Join University of Illinois Extension, Jo Daviess County Master Gardener, Madelynn Wilharm for this program to celebrate National Pollinator Week on Wednesday, June 24 at 10 a.m. This program is being held at the Galena Community Garden, 715 S. Dodge Street, Galena, IL. Pre-registration is requested but not required. To register or for more information visit us online at go.illinois.edu/jsw or call the Extension Office at 815-858-2273.
Madelynn will take you on a tour of the Galena Community Garden and talk about pollinator friendly plants, what plants in the garden need pollinators to survive, and hopefully spot a few pollinators themselves along the way!
In 2007, National Pollinator Week was officially declared by the U.S. Senate in order to recognize the importance of pollinators to ecosystem health and agriculture and to support efforts to increase awareness about pollinators. This year, National Pollinator week will be celebrated June 22-28.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to attend this program, please contact the Extension Office at 815-858-2273. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet your needs.
