Hort for the Holidays

Holidays are a great time to get creative with horticulture projects. Try out some fun holiday horticulture with us. 

We are providing two different workshops for Hort for the Holiday this year.

Kokedama Workshop - Kokedama is a Japanese style of bonsai where you grow plants in a moss-covered ball of soil. Come learn about the science and technique of Kokedama and which plants work best with this technique. 

Dried Flower Ornament Workshop - Everyone loves a homemade Christmas ornament. Come learn how to dry your flowers and make an ornament you can give as a gift or use in your holiday decorations every year.

  • November 4 - Kokedama Workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Central Township Building - 1515 Two Creeks, Greenville
  • November 12 - Kokedama Workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Marion County Extension Office - 1404 E Main, Rt 50 E, Salem
  • December 3 - Dried Flower Ornament Workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Washington County Education Building - 9623 Wall St, Nashville
  • December 10 - Dried Flower Ornament Workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Clinton County Extension Office - 1163 N. Fourth St, Breese 
  • December 11 - Dried Flower Ornament Workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Extension Office - 4202 Williamson Place, Ste 2, Mt. Vernon

Each session has a $5 fee. If you have questions or wish to register by phone, call Kaylen at 618-526-4551.
