Virtual Book Club for ROE 40 Educators

Join us for an exciting virtual book club featuring Hero for the Hungry: The Life & Work of Norman Borlaug. Explore the inspiring story of Borlaug’s impact on global hunger, while connecting with fellow educators in an online discussion, and earn 9 professional development hours! This virtual book club will run from February 16 – March 22.

Registration for this book club is $15. This covers the cost of the book and the 9 professional development hours from the University of Illinois. Your book will be mailed or delivered (delivered books will only be to schools in Macoupin County).

Register by Wednesday, January 21.

About the book: Can a quiet Iowa farm boy grow up to change the world? Norman Ernest Borlaug did. Norman Borlaug was the Father of the Green Revolution, saved millions from starvation, and won the Nobel Prize. How? Science, true American grit, and a passion for helping those in need.

Book club format: Each week, participants will be asked to complete the assigned reading, write a response to some questions in Google Classroom, and respond to at least two posts from other participants.
