Grow Your Own Groceries: Pick one session/pick many!
Would you like to grow your own fresh produce? Are you new to gardening or an experienced pro? Or do you want to learn more about the crops we can grow in our backyards? Join University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator, Nancy Kuhajda, and Extension Program Coordinator, Holly Froning for a lively discussion of growing vegetables. This series was created so you can select whatever crop(s) you are interested in. Choose one, or choose many!
These programs will be offered by Zoom. And for convenience, each session will be recorded, so even if you aren't available for the live session, you can still participate by registering and viewing later.
Each one-hour session will cover a group of vegetables with similar growing needs and times. Each session takes you from seed/variety selection through safe handling, harvest, storage and preservation. Recipes will be included too!
For each session, participants will receive 3-4 packages of seed, educational handouts, and some recipes that can be picked up at your local Extension office. Packets can be mailed for an additional fee if requested (fee based on distance.)
Sessions will be held Mondays from 6-7 pm on Zoom from March 16 through May 4.
If you need reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please contact the instructor, Nancy Kuhajda at kuhajda@illinois.edu or 815 727 9296.
