50 years of Illinois Master Gardener Quad Cities Celebration
This special event is now open to the general public
— all are welcome to attend and explore some of our most impactful garden projects throughout the Quad Cities area.

Join the University of IL Extension Master Gardeners serving Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Stark counties on Wednesday June 25, 2025 as we celebrate 50 years of Illinois Master Gardeners.   
  • 10 a.m.-noon: The day will start of Riverside Gardens in Moline at 10 a.m. where you will experience a long standing project with many different areas. Including a rain garden, demonstration garden, pollinator garden and greenhouse just to mention a few. https://www.moline.il.us/273/Riverside-Gardens
Tour includes a GIS-mapped tree walk, Demonstration food garden, pollinator garden  and a unique make and take in the greenhouse.
  • Noon-1:00 p.m.  Lunch on your own. There will be an option for a fabulous Hangry Haven food truck available so you can hang out at the park and chat or take the time and eat on your own.  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556385711554
  • 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. Floreciente Community Garden is a 2024 Extension Diversity award winning project with SNAP partnership. We are doing a food drive for this event so please feel free to bring your harvest bounty to share with those in need.   • 2:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. (please stay and enjoy) The day will culminate at cultural and architectural icon Hauberg Estate where you will see a new Master Gardener project that is gathering steam. The property is a rare combination. Architecturally significant, the mansion was designed by Robert Spencer with a rich Arts and Crafts interior.  Noted landscape architect Jens Jensen artfully designed the landscape. 
You will have a mansion tour along with the gardens and learn of all the amazing restoration projects that are underway.  You will finish in the carriage house with complimentary appetizers.
