From Peel to Plate: Reducing Food Waste One Bite at a Time | Christian County

Learn how to make the most of the food you bring home. This class looks at simple ways to cut food waste, store food safely, and understand what expiration dates really mean. We’ll talk about how to use ingredients from root to stalk and stretch your grocery budget without sacrificing flavor. Participants will roll up their sleeves in the kitchen and try recipes that put every part of the plant to work, including broccoli tots and air-fried Buffalo broccoli stems. It’s a practical, hands-on session that helps you save money, reduce waste, and enjoy good food.

When: Sept. 17 from 5:30pm-7pm

Where: The class will take place in Taylorville Memorial Hospital Conference Room 179, the all-purpose room in Taylorville. If you are unsure where to go, check with the front desk attendants when you walk into the main entrance.

Park in parking lot 4 - located at the rear of the hospital, next to the meeting room.
