Forest Stand Improvement & Chainsaw Safety Workshop

Registration for this program has closed.  Please reach Amy Lefringhouse at heberlei@illinois.edu or (217) 223-8380 for help or questions.

Join Instructor, Chris Evans, Forestry Extension & Research Specialist with the University of Illinois Extension, for a hands-on, outdoor field training on Forest Stand Improvement and Chainsaw Safety.

Participants will be trained in safe use of chainsaws, safety gear to use, chainsaw cleaning/maintenance, and an opportunity to practice these skills with experts.  This is a workshop and not a certification course. Wear long pants and sturdy boots. We will have PPE and chainsaws on hand to use, but feel free to bring your own chainsaws and PPE (chaps, helmets, hearing & eye protection) if you have them.

With only 12 seats available, this training will fill to capacity. Register early.

Participants are required to bring:
  • Wear long pants and sturdy boots.
Optional:
  • Bring chainsaws and PPE (chaps, helmets, hearing & eye protection). If you don't have them, we will provide them for you.
  • Bring a camping chair to use on breaks.
This workshop is a part of the Illinois Extension Your Land | Your Legacy series.  Your Land | Your Legacy is a landowner workshop series that will focus on landowner conservation programs and techniques.

If you have any registration questions, please contact Amy Lefringhouse at heberlei@illinois.edu or call (217) 223-8380.
