Farm to Feed: Social Media & Digital Marketing for Small Farms

Calling all direct-to-consumer farmers, small-scale producers, and local food businesses! Are you looking to increase your farm’s social media engagement, build a stronger agricultural marketing strategy, and gain a deeper understanding of your target audience? In today’s digital marketplace, social media marketing for small farms is essential for improving visibility, increasing sales, maintaining customer connections, and building long-term loyalty.

Whether you raise livestock, grow specialty crops, or produce value-added farm products, effective farm marketing strategies and consistent social media engagement are critical to the success and growth of your operation.

Join Pearl Carpenter of The Farmacy Farmstand and Alexis R. Barnes of the University of Illinois Extension for a practical, hands-on workshop focused on social media and digital marketing for farm businesses. No matter your sales channel—farmstand, farmers market, or CSA—this session will provide tools to attract new customers, grow brand awareness, and expand your farm’s online reach.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Create engaging social media posts for your farm business that highlight your story, products, and values
  • Identify the best times to post on social media based on audience activity and platform insights
  • Measure and expand your social media reach for farms and local food businesses
  • Strengthen customer connection, engagement, and retention as your operation grows

Grow your online presence for your farm business. Strengthen your farm brand identity. Increase your impact in your local food community.

This workshop is your next step toward smarter, more effective farm marketing and stronger customer engagement.
