Family Ice Fishing Clinic

Learn the ins and outs of ice fishing from the professionals at an ice fishing clinic presented by IDNR Urban and Community Fishing Program and Illinois Extension. Join us at Sinnissippi Park in Sterling on February 7 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Participants can expect a safety session before ice fishing in a designated safe area while accompanied by a parent or adult. IDNR will provide all the equipment needed including ice augers, fishing gear, bait, and safety equipment. Bring yourself, an adult, and warm weather gear. This program is dependent on ice thickness, weather, and safety. Registration is required to ensure that you receive timely updates about the program.

PARENTS: Please register with your name and list the name and age of each child you will be bringing. Participants should dress for the weather. All ice fishing gear will be provided, but participants may bring their own ice augers and safety gear (whistles, ice cleats, and ice picks) if they choose.
