Fall Community Tree Planting and Workshop
Join us this Fall to learn about local urban forest and plant a tree! Trees are a crucial part of our urban infrastructure that provide many benefits including cooling during the hottest days of summer (evaporative cooling, shading).
This free workshop and tree planting event will provide participants with an opportunity to learn more about the trees in their local area, including how to properly plant a tree, how to identify local trees, and what makes up the urban forest!
There will be two events held this Fall:
1. Saturday October 18th, 9:00am-12:00pm, Crystal Lake Park Lake House, 206 W Park St, Urbana, IL 61801
2. Saturday November 1st, 9:00am-12:00pm, Fire Station 2, 1135-1199 E Pierce St, Macomb, IL 61455
All community members, regardless of skill-level or experience, are invited to join for this event! Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Funding support for this project was provided by the Inflation Reduction Act through the Urban and Community Forestry Programs of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the USDA Forest Service Eastern Region. This institution is an equal opportunity
