Presenter: Karla Griesbaum, Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy Educator
Description: Fire is more than the combustion of fuel for energy. Fire has a deep cultural and environmental history for humans, the land, and wildlife. This presentation will go over a bit of the history of fire in Illinois, where we are now, and what we need for the future.

Presenter Bio: Karla Griesbaum is an Extension Educator in Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Plant Biology. Her favorite topics to teach about are safe and ethical foraging, invasive species, prescribed burning, native plants, fungi, and wildlife.
