Dial-Gauge Pressure Canner Testing

Mark your calendar and stop by to see Susan Glassman, Food and Nutrition Educator, to get ready for canning season safely. Over time, dial gauges can become inaccurate, and if the pressure is too low, food may not reach a high enough temperature to kill harmful bacteria.
To ensure safe home canning, pressure canner dial gauges should be tested once per year.

If you cant make the time, drop your lid off with the gauge, and we'll call you to pick it up when it's done with testing.

Please select your preferred drop-off location below.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact Susan Glassman at susang@illinois.edu or 815-433-0707. Early requests are strongly encouraged in order to allow sufficient time to meet access needs.
