Climate Stewards Winter-Spring 2025

This Illinois Climate Stewards cohort will be entirely online, through Learn @ Illinois Extension.  Course participants will gain knowledge in climate science, communication, state climate trends, government policy, and climate justice/equity issues.  Participants will spend 36-40 hours over 11 weeks to complete the core sections, with another 10 hours to cover optional sections.  Those who finish the course will receive a certificate of completion.  However unlike Master Naturalists or Master Gardeners, participants will not be an Illinois Extension volunteer, and there are no background screening requirements.

The course will run from 2/17/2025 to 5/5/2025. Five virtual meeting (via the Zoom platform) will take place on February 17th  (5:30-7:30 pm), March 3rd  (5:30-7:00 pm), March  24th (5:30-7:00 pm), April 14th (5:30-7:00 pm) and  May 5th  (5:30-7:30 pm).  Participants are encouraged to attend these sessions, but these will be recorded for later viewing if there is a conflict. Students will have access to the course through December 31, 2025.
 
Six to twelve months after the course, you will be contacted to provide information on climate related activities you may be involved with. This will help us determine course impact.
