Chick Adoption

Thank you for your interest in adopting chicks from the 2026 Embryology in the Classroom program!
Chick adoption will be on March 20 and May 15 at the Peoria (4810 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria) and Tazewell (1505 Valle Vista Blvd, Pekin) County Extension offices from 5-6 pm. While we have a rough estimate of how many chicks will need homes, we cannot guarantee the exact amount you would like will be available depending on hatch rates in each classroom and how many chicks will still need homes. Please note that both hatches will be straight run and a variety of purebred laying breeds. You will need to provide your own way to transport your chicks home.
