Certified Livestock Manager Training Workshops 2026
University of Illinois Extension and the Illinois Department of Agriculture will kick off the 2026 Certified Livestock Manager Training Workshop schedule on February 3. Seven locations around the state will host training workshops that meet the Illinois Livestock Management Facilities Act training requirements for Illinois livestock managers.
Pre-registration is required to attend an in-person workshop. Class size is limited in some locations due to space constraints.
The 2026 workshop dates and locations include:
Feb. 3, Effingham U of I Extension-Effingham County, 1209 N. Wenthe Ave., Effingham
Feb. 4, Breese U of I Extension-Clinton County, 1163 North 4th St., Breese
Feb. 5, Pittsfield U of I Extension-Pike County, 1301 E. Washington, Pittsfield
Exam: Administered by IDOA staff immediately after training

Who Needs Certification?
Facilities with 300+ animal units: Must have at least one owner or operator certified in environmentally responsible manure management.
301–999 animal units: Attending a workshop OR completing online training meets the CLM training requirements
1,000+ animal units: Requires attending a workshop and passing the IDOA exam OR completing online training and passing the online test to meet the CLM training requirements.
Anyone: Can becertified by attending the workshop or completing online training.
Exam Details:
50 questions (paper or online)
Passing score: 70% (35 correct)

Youth under 18 may attend, but cannot serve as the sole certified manager
