CCMG: Spring/Cool Season Vegetable Pests and Pathogens
Champaign County Master Gardeners and University of Illinois Extension present Spring/Cool Season Vegetable Pests and Pathogens
Date: Tuesday, March 24, 2026
Time: 7 pm
Location: Extension Auditorium, 801 N Country Fair Dr, Champaign, IL - In-person only, no Zoom option
Speaker: Jack McCoy
Spring is a wonderful time to begin planting many cool-season vegetables. Cool-season vegetables can often withstand periodic frosts and can thrive prior to the onset of the summer heat. But planting sometimes has a downside (minor, of course, for true enthusiasts). Plant diseases such as fungus or dry rot can emerge during a rainy period, and emerging insects or hungry mammals or birds may cause some disruptions. Learn about clever techniques and mechanisms to unleash your best crop potential.
