CCMG: Herbicide Drift: How It Happens and What to Do About It

Champaign County Master Gardeners and University of Illinois Extension present Herbicide Drift and What to Do About It

Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Time: 7 pm
Location: Zoom
Speaker: Kim Erndt Pitcher, Director of Ecological Health, Prairie Rivers Network, Champaign, IL

Herbicide drift and chemical trespass harm Illinois trees and plants in wild and cultivated landscapes. Prairie Rivers Network's Tree and Plant Health Monitoring program has been documenting the severity and distribution of off-target herbicide injuries for 8 years. This program will highlight some of their findings and what other states are observing as well.

This presentation will cover what herbicide drift is, how it happens, what it looks like, and what you can do about it.
