Esports – Brown & Schuyler Counties

When: Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from October 20 through November 5 (6 Sessions)

Time: 3:30 to 5:30 (youth do not have to be here for the full time)

Where: Schuyler County Extension Office – 710 Maple Ave, Rushville

Who: Any youth in 5th through 8th grade

Cost: $30

We will be starting with Mario Super Smash Bros, since that is what will be at the tournament on November 7, we may also work with Mario Kart Ultimate. All Equipment will be provided. Youth may bring their own controller for the Nintendo Switch if they would prefer.

Youth will have the opportunity to attend the tournament in Peotone, IL on November 7. The cost for the tournament is free. I will need to know by October 31, if any youth plan to participate.

Esports teaches strategic thinking, communication, sportsmanship, time management and digital literacy. Youth can explore careers in STEM fields, such as software engineering, game design, audio production and network management.
