Bloomington-Normal Seed Swap 2024
This registration has been archived.
Get ready for the Bloomington-Normal Seed Swap 2024, hosted by the Normal Public Library, in collaboration with University of Illinois Extension and Wild Ones Illinois Prairie Chapter.
We will begin our seed swap event with educational programming from regional experts on how to start seed of native perennials, as well as annual vegetables. Presentations will be 30 minutes long, each, and will include PowerPoint slides, helpful photos, demonstration of handy tools of the trade, and more. There will be time for Q and A for each speaker.
Once educational presentations are finished, we will get to swapping! If you plan to take seeds from the seed swap, please bring seeds to donate if you have any to spare. Seeds should not be more than 2 years old. Seeds should be heritage or heirloom. Saved F1 hybrid seeds will present problems to growers - please do not bring those. All seeds brought to our program but not given away will be donated to the Normal Seed Library for future seed swap events. Come learn how to start native or vegetable seed, take some home, and try it out.
The first 50 participants to register for this program will receive a free packet of Lanceleaf Coreopsis seed from Wild Ones!
If you need accommodations for this program, please contact Nick Frillman at frillma2@illinois.eduÂ
