Join us for the 4-H Bass Fishing SPIN Club hosted at the Kankakee County Extension Office (1650 Commerce Drive, Bourbonnais, IL 60914). Sessions will start at 1 pm and last approximately 1- 1.5 hours
Dates and Session Topics:
June12th: Spinnerbait “Sense” sation
Build your spinnerbait. Understand every component of a spinnerbait and why they get noticed by bass.
June 26th: Know Knots
Learn to tie the Trilene know and the Palomar knot, and make bass club paracord bracelets.
July 10th: Soft Bait Rigs
Set up soft bait rigs using knots and line types: Texas Rig, Caroline Rig, Wacky Rig, and Drop Shot Rig
July 17th: Understanding Largemouth Bass Populations and Temperature and Eyesight Factors in Bass Fishing
Study aquatic food chains, fishing stock rates, creel, and size limits used by Fish Biologists to manage largemouth bass populations. Learn how the eye of a bass works and why water clarity affects largemouth bass behavior
August 7th: Spin Cast vs. Spinning Rods
Discover why most bass fishermen prefer spinning rods vs. casting rods.
August 14th: Weather permitting club fishing derby day.
