Barrie McVey - Tree Farm Tour & Picnic

Jack Wohlstadter purchased the first 80 acres of the farm in 1992, and an additional 38 acres were added in 2001. The property has been a certified Tree Farm for more than 25 years. During this tour, participants will learn about a variety of forest management practices, including tree planting, Timber Stand Improvement, pruning, selective logging, invasive species control, and establishing pollinator plots. All farmable acres have been out of row‑crop production for many years. The tour also includes stops at the pollinator plot, Chinese chestnut orchard, and pumpkin patch.
Schedule

12:00–12:30 PM: Sack‑lunch break
12:30–1:30 PM: Tour resumes
