Avon Township Summer Clovers 4-H Club
Do your kids need something positive to engage them this summer? 4-H and Avon township are offering a Summer 4-H club opportunity to learn about some of the 4-H projects offered throughout the year in a summer setting.
Do your kids need something positive to engage them this summer? 4-H and Avon township are offering a Summer 4-H club opportunity to learn about some of the 4-H projects offered throughout the year in a summer setting.
- What: Get a “Taste of 4-H” with the Avon Township Summer Clovers 4-H Club.
- When: Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- Where: Avon Township Building, 433 E Washington St, Round Lake Park, Illinois 60073.
- Who: Recommended for youth who have already completed kindergarten through 4th grade (4-H ages 5 - 10 as of September 1, 2023).
- Why: Kids develop life skills through hands-on projects in science, health, environment, agriculture, and cultural appreciation. The 4-H program fosters confidence, independence, resilience, and compassion. Find your Spark by visiting the Illinois 4-H Website: https://4h.extension.illinois.edu.
- Cost: $20.00 Illinois 4-H membership fee
This summer club provides a glimpse into the 4-H program, allowing kids to explore independent learning through hands-on activities:
- Explore the Outdoor World with 4-H: Learn about birds, reptiles, mammals, bugs, and pond life through hands-on activities, games, and live animal experiences.
- STEM Challenges: Dive into science, technology, engineering, and math with fun challenges.
- Cultural & Creative Arts: Express yourself through creative arts.
- Promoting Self-Care: Emphasize social-emotional health and proper nutrition.
Participants should:
- Dress for the weather as we will be going outside. Wear closed toed shoes (ex. PE shoes). No flip-flop sandals. Bring a hat or visor & coat or sweatshirt.
- Youth should arrive wearing sunscreen & bug spray, etc. (staff is not allowed to apply these to youth.)
- Please list any allergies.

Printed forms are also available in person at the Avon Township Building. Forms will be accepted up to the day the program begins. Youth who do not have forms completed, will not be allowed to participate.
