Air Frying 101: What You Need to Know Before You Buy

With holiday sales just around the corner, many shoppers are considering whether an air fryer deserves a place on their kitchen counter. But before purchasing this popular appliance, it's worth learning what it can and can't do.

University of Illinois Extension, in partnership with the Senior Resource Center, invites you to join us for Air Frying 101, an educational program designed to help participants decide whether an air fryer is a good fit for their cooking style and budget. Air fryers can be an energy-efficient way to prepare meals, reheat leftovers, and create crispy foods using little or no added oil, making them a convenient option for many households.

Participants will learn about the different types and sizes of air fryers, features to consider before purchasing, foods that cook best in an air fryer, and tips for using the appliance safely and effectively. Whether you're curious about the health benefits, hoping to simplify meal preparation, or wondering if an air fryer is worth the investment, this program will help you make an informed decision.

Air Frying 101 will be held on Wednesday, November 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Senior Resource Center, 206 E. Stephenson St., Freeport, IL.

To register, call the University of Illinois Extension office at (815) 235-4125 or visit go.illinois.edu/jsw. The registration fee is $5 and includes all educational materials. Pre-registration is requested.

Whether you're cooking for yourself or sharing meals with family and friends, you'll leave with practical tips to help make mealtime easier, healthier, and more enjoyable. Come for the knowledge, stay for the connection!
