4-H Tree ID Hike | Macoupin County

Registration for this event is closed. Please call Macoupin County Extension at 217-854-9604 with questions.

Beaver Dam State Park is located in Macoupin County just south of Carlinville and is situated in an oak/hickory woodland. The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities and picturesque trees and forestry on its 750 acres. Although beavers are virtually gone from this area, the park is named for a beaver dam that created its lake.  Join Andrew Holsinger, Extension horticulture educator, for a morning at the park. Tour the park and learn about tree identification and native trees of Illinois.
