4-H Story Builders: Share the News - McLean, Livingston & Woodford County

Get ready to become a storyteller, reporter, and community voice! 4‑H Story Builders: Share the News is an interactive, hands‑on workshop where youth learn how to turn everyday events into compelling stories worth sharing. Through fun activities, creative prompts, and real‑world examples, participants will explore the basics of journalism, interviewing, and storytelling.

Youth will practice gathering facts, crafting clear and engaging articles, and presenting stories that matter to them—from club happenings and project highlights to local community events. Participants will also learn how to tailor stories for newsletters, social media posts, and public presentations, helping them confidently share their 4‑H experiences with others.

By the end of the workshop, each young reporter will walk away with a polished news story and the skills to keep building and sharing great stories all year long.

Perfect for: 4‑H members of all ages who want to boost their communication skills, express creativity, and make their voices heard.
