The 2025 4-H Fun Day is Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm at Prince of Peace Church, 2336 Freeport Road, Rockton, IL. A morning of hands-on learning and fun – our workshops will have you DOING, THINKING, and CREATING! This day is geared toward ALL youth ages 8-18 – grab a friend and be ready to have fun!
Workshops start at 9:00 am – Please arrive and check in between 8:45 – 9:00 am.

SESSION 1 - 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. (FOR EVERYONE)
Ready, Set, Focus, and Fun! In this warm-up session, students will explore various methods to get their minds into a performance-ready space. We will use different improv and theater games to not just warm up the body and voice but to have fun and build confidence.

SESSION 2 - 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
A. Get Up & Dance Get ready to light up the dance floor and wow your family and friends with some fresh moves! Join us for an energetic, fun-filled dance class for all skill levels! In this session, you’ll learn essential dance terminology to build your foundation, master basic dance steps and techniques that are easy to follow, & discover how to find your rhythm and move confidently to the beat. We’ll finish the class with an exciting Hip Hop Line Dancing Party, where you can show off your new skills and dance like a pro. Whether you’re new to dancing or just looking for a good time, this class promises to leave you feeling confident, energized, and ready to groove.
B. Flower Arranging ($5 fee) Introduction to Flora Design. A brief rundown on the basics of fresh-cut flower care and floral design. You will learn how to process flowers, care for different flower types, different techniques for floral design, and the basics of good floral composition. At the end of the session, everyone will be able to take home their very own hand-tied banquet!
C. Viking Bracelets Make a bracelet using the traditional ancient cord weaving technique called Kumihimo. Learn about the history of this weaving technique and how it was used.
D. Cookie Decorating ($15 fee) Here is a great way to increase your decorating skills for your next party or family event. Learn what icing tip would make flowers, and learn about the best way to frost your cookie. In this session, you will learn how to decorate a cookie. You will practice on one cookie and get to take the other one home or eat.

C. Cardmaking Fun! Express yourself and your thoughts through a card. Here's a chance to make a vintage holiday or a "funky" card for your friend, family member, or even yourself!
D. Basics of Photography Discover the art of photography in this fun, hands-on class! Learn the basics of taking great photos, from composition and lighting to creative angles. Whether using a smartphone or a camera, this class will help you see the world through a new lens and capture moments like a pro. Join us to learn, experiment, and share your best shots! Please bring a smartphone or digital camera to this workshop.
SESSION 3 - 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (optional)
OFFICER TRAINING
A. President/Vice President - Be a great leader and set a good example for everyone in the club. Lead the club meetings in a way that helps everyone stay focused and organized. Work with the other club volunteers and officers to plan the club's activities for the year, such as when and where meetings will happen and what will be discussed.
B. Secretary - The 4-H Club Secretary is responsible for keeping track of everything the club does. This includes taking attendance, writing down the important things that happen during meetings (called minutes), and working with the other club leaders to ensure everything runs smoothly.
C. Treasurer - The 4-H Club Treasurer is in charge of managing the club's money. This includes keeping track of how much money the club has, depositing any money that comes in, paying any bills, and preparing a report at the end of the year to show how the money was spent.
