4-H Film Festival: My Roots Run Deep
The registration period has ended.
And ACTION: Here’s to all you budding film directors, ages 8-18. You have an opportunity to create a 1 to 2-minute film using the theme: My Roots Run Deep
PLEASE NOTE: Any film that showcases the following: blood, gore, violence, nudity, drug use, alcohol, weapons, or mistreatment of humans or animals will automatically be disqualified and not judged or shown. NO EXCEPTIONS! Think family-friendly G or PG rating.
You may use an iPhone or Android phone to make your film. Here are a few requirements you may want to consider when making your film:
- Shot in landscape-orientation
- No overlays or filters (like a TikTok account handle)
- HD 1080p or greater
- Highest-quality export setting
- 1 to 2 minutes in length
- Every film needs to start with a 10-second title card that has the following information:
- Name of Film
- Child's Name
- County
- School Grade

Judging will happen during December and January. All films will be viewed at Highland Community College, Bldg H, Parking lot B on (a date to be determined). Admission to the viewing will be $5.00 per person, and everyone who wants to attend will need to register at
