4-H at Carriage House Apartments

Join us for four weekly lessons about mindfulness that will help teach youth coping and stress management strategies, the importance of emotional intelligence, and how art and working with your hands can create peace.

Week 1: Mindful Eating | July 15 | 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM 
Youth will learn how eating habits affect mental health, try new and different foods, and learn how to prepare a simple healthy snack that is also delicious. 
Week 2: Stress Management | July 22 | 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM 
Youth will learn different coping methods and methods for stress management that will include, yoga, journaling, creating a constellation chart, and more. 
Week 3: Fill Someone's Bucket | July 29 | 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM 
Youth will participate in various activities such as, thank you cards, chalk drawings, and a "compliment challenge" that will show how filling someone else's "bucket" can help fill our own. 
Week 4: The "Art" of Mindfulness | August 5 | 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM 
Our final lesson will be a craft-filled hour that will show how art can bring joy and create a space for peace, both mentally and physically. Youth will engage in several crafts created to promote mindfulness such as glitter jars, wind chimes, and paint blowing.

Youth, ages 8 to 15 years old are welcome!
